The number one characteristic of favorite teachers, according to Hal Urban, is enthusiasm. They are enthusiastic in teaching, and with children. They view teaching so intensely that they devote their life, and their best to it. Of course, children can feel it. Aside from the mentioned, two of the most important characteristics that best educators is that they are (1) motivated, and (2) understanding.

MOTIVATED. This is a crucial characteristic for an educator to function effectively and efficiently in teaching.   Moreover, if a teacher is motivated, he will do his job very well, and will be excited every day. He will look forward to what he can impart to his students.

UNDERSTANDING. Teachers should be an understanding person in many aspects. He should understand the student himself like his interests, and dislikes. Teachers must understand how to captivate the attention of his students, too. Overall, teachers are expected to understand the lives of his students.
